Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson

Meet the man responsible for redesigning Swingline, penning the iconic Nike Presto watch, and developing the Quinze & Milan social sofa series. Scott Wilson was recently profiled in the October issue of Fast Company, as well as over at the design blog MoCo Loco. He’s recently been named director of Motorola’s department for wearable design. If his concepts for Nike are any clue, it’ll be a safe bet that Motorola will redefine how we use technology to communicate in the not too distant future.

Friday the 13th is pretty spooky. One of the scariest movies I remember watching was Leprechaun (the sequels were questionable, at best, especially Leprechaun VI, Leprechaun in the Hood), which brings us to our next profile: Irish super-studio Image Now. Part consultancy, part gallery, they seem to pull off both pretty well. From the poster pictured above charting all punched landed between Muhammed Ali and George Foreman’s epic battle in Zaire (available at Blanka) to the Josef Müller Brockmann exhibition they had running at their gallery space, their work just oozes refinement.

Neuerepublika

Neuerepublika

Brazillian designer Athila Armstrong runs the Neuerepublika site, showcasing some very nice interactive work in a fairly structured flash-based scheme. There is some great work to be seen here, besides the site itself. Go dig around.

Farfar

Farfar is an interactive shop in Sweden. They put out some really great concepts; you might be familiar with Pjotro from Nokia, among other campaigns in their portfolio. While I don’t care for the firm’s emphasis on their award wins, the work is solid and imaginative and the site is easy to navigate.
