I figure we might as well close out the week with another English studio, this one from London with an aptly British name: Bostock and Pollitt. Nicely polished and buttoned-up corporate comms work, which seems to be scarcer and scarcer nowadays with the proliferation of the Web 2.0 look and psychedelia taking over the print and motion worlds.
Sanderson Bob
Updates over at Sanderson Bob, another tDR alum. Some very conceptual, colorful, and playful work being shown.
Blue Source
Designers of such famous music covers as the Chemical Brothers and Dirty Vegas, English studio Blue Source has been churning out fantastic work for years now. While there is a smattering of corporate comms work on display, the star of this show is the firm’s album covers.
Wash Design
Wash Design is a small studio in the UK doing some top-notch creative. Their site seems to emphasize heavily art directed print pieces, but they do web and video as well.
Muller
From London by way of Antwerp comes Tom Muller with an astonishing list of credentials. Currently serving as the Creative Director of UK-based creative firm Kleber Design Ltd., Tom has also collaborated with the likes of The Designers Republic and Ashley Wood. Be sure to check out ximeraLabs as well, which serves as an outlet for his more conceptual works.
Harsh Patel
Some fantastic work on New Yorker Harsh Patel’s site. Be sure to check out some of his newest work in conjunction with Sarkissian Mason for Boeing. This is what all websites will soon be like.
Superfamous
Superfamous, the portfolio of Newstoday co-founder Folkert Gorter has been updated with some new works. If you don’t have this one in your book marks, please add it now.
The Consult
The Consult furthers the stereotype I have of English design, and that’s not a bad thing at all. From Leeds, this studio shows a small, albeit very tight sample of its work, on a website with an equally no-frills approach. The result conveys the honesty with which it is apparent this firm approaches its clients’ projects.
Studio Von Birken
By way of Brooklyn, NY comes Studio Von Birken. I’ve always liked the JanouPakter ads I noticed in I.D. magazine. There style has an aura of glam and luxury associated with it.
Dzark
DzarkDesignbureau is a graphic design studio launched in the fall of 2000 by Virgilio Santos. Dzark stands out as a creative lab that challenges the borders between commercial and arts projects, developing innovative solutions for all mediums, Print, Interactive, & Video.
