FIFA World Cup ’06 Identity

World Cup has begun. I’m never thought of myself as a soccer fan, but I’ve really been into all the games so far. I think it’s just the scale of the games that’s sparked my interest, but here is our obligatory World Cup blog post.

There’s apparently been quite an uproar amongst the German deisgn community about the execution of the current indentity for the World Cup. German design guru Eric Spiekermann recently spoke out against the mark, and some designers have even chaired a competition for new marks. Some are good, some are not so good. My personal fav of the bunch is the one showed above courtesy of Hesse Design. Check them all out for yourself at the site.
